The best part about my job is working with customers to make sure that our products meet, or more importantly, exceed their requirements.
It’s all about YOU!
Bromcom utilises an Agile development process to ensure that our products are always improving and meeting the needs of all our customers. We held our Product Release Webinar to show our customers what developments will be going live in the next release. There were over 70 people on the webinar, from our largest MAT customers, to our smallest Primary Schools.
All our customers can sign up to this webinar through our weekly bulletins, where they can visually see all the new changes in our product that is documented in the release notes on our development systems. For me, this is a great way to take the words on the page of the release notes and see them come to life on the screen. I almost feel like a film director taking my script and producing cinema magic. For this session I was able to take a back seat as our three amazing Product Owners took to the ‘virtual stage’ to take our customers through the enhancements.
I have to take my hat off to Ben, Richard and Steve. This ‘triple’ act took turns in demonstrating features while being able to monitor the chat from the customers. Open and honest questions were asked and almost always answered by the team. I could see the developments happening in real time as a customer asked a question, the product owners replied with ‘that’s a great idea’ and already the ideas are being weaved into the next phase of development. Why would any company produce a product that does not meet the needs of their customer?
And on the agenda
We started with an update on our Covid support, as I am part of the group of people that spends our evenings reading the many updated DfE documents to see how we need to adapt our MIS system to support our schools in meeting the government reporting requirements. We want to make sure that we try to ease the burden on our schools in the current situation.
We were able to show how we had developed our Ad-Hoc reporting module to allow greater flexibility and streamlining the storage of report templates in the MIS System. Our online payments system showed enhancements in balance transfers and multi-payments and how our parent portal can be used to gather parental information including admission information directly on-line straight into the Cloud MIS. Our Primary Tracker product is going from strength to strength with some great enhancements around formative and summative assessments. We also saw a new dashboard in development to pull primary assessment analysis all together in one place.
Finally, we were shown the next phase of the ongoing developments on our user interface, which is cleaner, sharper and provides more data directly at your fingertips.
The session ended after nearly two hours. A number of customers thanked the team for an informative session, and I found myself coming away exhausted but oozing positivity that the Cloud based Bromcom MIS is the best product in the marketplace.
